Very striking poem, yet very soothing to say the least. I must say, that this piece from Lord Byron's work is truly applicable in a lot of documentaries and movies concerning the wild.

I agree. Fantastic book (as are all the others by Jon Krakauer that I've read so far), and the movie is very well done and quite affecting. Andrew, you should also check out the "Alone in the Wilderness" DVD made from footage shot by, and the notebooks of, Dick Proeneke, who moved up to Twin Lakes, Alaska in 1967, built his own log cabin, and lived there - alone! - for the next 30 years.
