I went downstream and back, turning around at the stone bridge near the state line, but you can also keep going into Nashua... I understand the marshes at Fields Grove are impassable this time of year, but in early spring you can make it that far (there's a dam and tunnel beyond that). I'm partial to smaller rivers. If you check it out, also look for the smaller branches off to the more or less west (your left, going downstream).

Re: Seen in and along Salmon Brook

I have kayaked on the Souhegan and seen some of these wonders......but you describe a virtual Garden of Eden.....where the heck were you exactly??

Re: Seen in and along Salmon Brook

you should have been around in the

60s to see what the river looked like

back then,,,yuk...alot of improvement

since,,,,

Re: Seen in and along Salmon Brook

Wow, reminds me of younger days when I had my own solo canoe (an Old Town Pack) and would go out on Woodward Pond (out near Keene). I saw gigantic snappers (glad I didn't fall into that water...), a buck swimming across one early morning, a hawk in a dead tree on an islet keeping an eye on its lucky find (a fawn that was half-in, half-out of the water, poor thing), and many other amazing sights. Happy paddling...

Re: Seen in and along Salmon Brook

No doubt, but I didn't see them! I didn't see any fish, come to think of it. I'm sure they are in there, but the water is a bit murky.

Re: Seen in and along Salmon Brook

HOW ABOUT A CARP,THERE ARE

MANY VERY BIG CARP IN THAT

RIVER.
